POSITION OVERVIEW

The Account Manager will play a key role in Momentum’s Development team with a focus on strategic and administrative support for the Founding Director. This role requires an efficient, conscientious, and detail-oriented professional who is self-motivated with exceptional communication skills and enjoys providing administrative support in a fast-paced, global environment. Key responsibilities include managing all fundraising appointments, proposals, reports, follow up, research and database recording associated with the fundraising efforts for the Founding Director and other key Fundraisers as needed. Reporting to the Associate Director, Development Operations, this role also contributes other operational support to other development initiatives as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the Account Manager for the Founding Director to ensure the development responsibilities are implemented in a smooth, timely manner and documented appropriately into the database system. Under the direction of the Associate Director, implement a portfolio moves management system, supporting the donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies. Drive the moves management process, including data analysis, prospect research, identification of prospects responsibilities, and regular reviews of portfolio performance and progress. This includes, but is not limited to:

Plan and implement regularly scheduled meetings with the Founding Director to review top donors and new prospects support needed.

Achieve advanced proficiency in development related aspects of the database (currently Salesforce) with a focus on creating accounts for prospects and donors, creating and maintaining donor and prospect lists for Founding Director, and ensuring all information for relevant donor accounts is current and accurate.

Coordinate all proposals and stewardship reporting for prospects and donors connected to the Founding Director. Provide support to other donor proposals and materials preparation as needed.

Prepare comprehensive trip guides prior to the travel of the Founding Director including donor and prospect research, setting and confirming appointments, and assembling donor presentation materials.

Conduct debriefs with the Founding Director after travel to document meeting highlights and required follow-up activities, enter accordingly into the database and ensure all follow-up activities are implemented in a timely and accurate manner.

Provide all relevant backup for closed pledges and follow up on open pledges with timeliness and accuracy.

Manage development related correspondence for the Founding Director including acknowledgment of pledges and donations, often responding on her behalf when appropriate.

  • Participate in development team meetings and trainings, as well as organizational retreats and staff meetings.
  • Provide administrative support to key development initiatives including but not limited to: donor events, cultivation experiences, galas, conferences, e-philanthropy, direct mail, and other fundraising initiatives as it relates to the Founding Director’s involvement.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least 2-4 years of experience in a relevant nonprofit development function or related administrative nonprofit role.
  • Excellent PC literacy with strong competency in all Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Sharepoint). Prior experience with project management software such as Asana is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in development-related aspects of databases, preferably experience with SalesForce.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a quality of work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build strong and trusted relationships with staff, donors, and board members.
  • Proven ability to maximize donor database tools, generate fundraising metrics and reporting and implement a strong donor communication system.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong knowledge of Jewish culture and traditions strongly preferred.
  • Must have flexibility to work nontraditional hours including evenings twice a week and additional evenings, as needed.
