Celebrating your son's Barmitzvah at the Western Wall? You will have the Shacharit, the Simcha and the Seuda, so why not top it all with a memorable tour experience for the whole party!
Book a Western Wall (above ground) tour especially for Barmitzvah parties. Time: 1 hour approx.
Hear the stories and learn about the Jewish Traditions connected to the Temple Mount and Western Wall. We start at Dung Gate and finish at the northern end of the Western Wall Plaza after about 45 minutes.
Although we walk about 200 metres during that time, we actually travel in history nearly 4000 years from the Tanach, Sefer Bereshit to the time of Herod, then the Romans, Byzantines, early Muslim era then we fast-forward to the Ottoman Period, then to the time of the British Mandate straight through to the miraculous Six Day War when the Western Wall and the whole of Jerusalem was liberated! What better way is there to connect the Barmitzvah boy to his heritage.
After this, there is a free bonus tour through the Muslim Quarter of the Old City to a relatively unknown section of the Western Wall, hidden away from all but those who know the Old City very well. It is a hidden gem, and once you are there, you will know why!
After that, your guide will lead you back to the Western Wall Plaza.
Your tour guide is licensed by the Israeli Ministry of Tourism, he is Dati Leumi, and speaks excellent English. The tour will not go onto the Temple Mount.
On this walking tour, you are requested to wear hats and use sunscreen for protection, to wear closed shoes, to carry water bottles and to wear modest clothing. Your guide will be primarily concerned with the safety of the group, so please follow his instructions at all times.
