Shapell’s/Yeshivat Darche Noam in Beit HaKerem seeks an experienced associate kitchen manager for a 70-100% time position. The Yeshiva kitchen serves approximately 50 people daily. Though a majority of food comes from an outside caterer, the staff is responsible for setting up/cleaning up as well as preparing breakfasts/dinners, occasional special events and salads for our sister midrasha. They are also responsible for orders from suppliers for the yeshiva and midrasha. The staff needs to have strong conversational Ivrit and English as well as the experience and knowledge necessary for managing a Kosher kitchen of our size. The associate kitchen manager will also be responsible for being present and managing the kitchen on in Shabbatot (approximately once every three weeks during the yeshiva year) as well as Rosh HaShannah, Simchat Torah and Shavuot.  If they aren't within walking distance appropriate housing can be arranged.  

The yeshiva views the kitchen managers as important role models and mentors for its students (who are generally ages 20-35). Thus it is essential that the person be a warm, caring, hard working individual who is comfortable speaking with students. This is a position with room for growth. The ideal start date is Oct. 19.
